Somethings brewing.
I don't know why, but I am noticing people all around me going through deep evaluation of self. People are trying to discover, some of them for the first time, what God truly wants them to do. People are making decisions that are taking them out of their comfort zones.
My wife "heard" God in her head say to her, "Do you want to be comfortable or do you want to do what I want?"
Could this be the Spirit's final call to righteousness?
We are finding it a spiritual battle more than ever to clear our minds to hear the LORD. Somehow I don't think it's because He is on the phone with all our friends. We too are uncontrollably called to evaluation but we are finding the sound waves a bit murky. What do you want LORD?
I need to retreat and find silence to listen and discover God's way for today. Would you pray for me that I can get there? Pray for my wife that she can get there?

I'd like to say the following which I picked up some years ago from someone:
First, Read the Word of God.
Second, Consume the Word of God until it Consumes you.
Third, Act on the Word of God.
I believe that God is stirring in those people who are starting to take His Word seriously. To systematically consume His Word until it consumes them. And then to act on it.
I challenge you to read the book of First John (1Jn), right through. Consume it until it consumes you. In one sitting.
Then, read Psalm 24:3-4. Consume it. Understand it as a literal requirement for those who are praying for God to move and convict sinners, and to bring about revival in the hearts of those who belong to Him.
Thanks for the input. I don't think my issue is thirst for God's Word though. I chew through it everyday with excitement and 1 John is one of my favorite books.
In fact I think it is because of the Word that I am looking for more clarity with God.
My major question is, am I doing what He wants me to do? Or is there something else? It's altogether possible that it has nothing to do with profession and has everything to do with everything else. If that makes any sense.
